FAQ’s - Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What does an ‘approved Young Leader’ mean?

A: All Young Leaders need to meet the YL profile found here. All Young Leaders will need to be approved by their Area Office.

Q: We want to bring more than 5 YLs or more staff people than the National Director, are there funds for them?

A: No.  At this time we are working to raise funds needed for up to 5 YLs per nation and the national leader and board chair (or proxy).

Q: We don’t have a board member coming, can we use the scholarship for another staff person?

A: No. Our organisation values a strong governance model and we love to see participation from national board members. We are establishing scholarships purposely to help these individuals attend GA. You are welcome and encouraged to bring other staff to the event but we don’t have scholarships available.

Q: What if I don’t know exactly which YLs or leaders will attend by March 31st?

A: We would encourage you to register names of those you intend to bring by March 31st to receive the lowest registration price and to begin the visa process. This also helps YFCI plan for raising the needed funds and know how many are likely to be on-site. You can transfer registration to another individual up until June 30th, 2020.  After March 31st registration costs increase for all attendees but scholarships do not. Please register now to lock in the lowest prices.

Q: What’s the refund policy for GA2020?

GA 2020 Registration Deposits are NON-REFUNDABLE, but they are TRANSFERABLE to a NEW registrant (someone not yet registered). All Cancellations and Requests for Transfer must be received no later than June 30, 2020.

Include your name, country, and reason for canceling. To TRANSFER your deposit to a NEW registrant we require the following:

  1. CANCELLATION REQUEST including your name, country and reason for canceling.
  2. NAME and COUNTRY of the NEW REGISTRANT you wish to transfer your deposit to.
  3. COMPLETED REGISTRATION for the NEW registrant.

Q: What’s the largest stroopwafel you’ve seen and where can I get it?

A: There are stroopwafels as big as a Frisbee and you can purchase them in Groningen on “STOP” day (more information on STOP Day will be coming soon).
